Dolores O’Riordan, the lead singer of The Cranberries, has died. She was 46.

Here are five facts about the lead singer of the Cranberries, Dolores O’Riordan:

1. Dolores Mary Eileen O’Riordan was an Irish musician and singer-songwriter. She led the rock band the Cranberries for 13 years before the band took a break starting in 2003, reuniting in 2009.

2. O’Riordan was The Cranberries’ chief lyricist and co- songwriter, and her powerful, sometimes wailing, voice was key to the band’s distinctive sound.

3. O’Riordan has been recognized as a style icon, sporting a pixie cut or buzzed hair in the 90’s.

4. O’Riordan was an Honorary Patron of University Philosophical Society (Trinity College, Dublin).

5. On 15 January 2018, at the age of 46, while in London, England for a recording session, O’Riordan died unexpectedly at a hotel.
